Cable / Satellite HD reformatting ??

My Comcast HD STB only outputs 1080i to my new FP.  No 720p on ABC or 480p on Fox. Anyone else notice? Solution?

I suspect that they are either saving bandwidth on the 720p by converting to 1080i and only sending 1/2 of the field (540) and letting the STB or TV fill in the second field.  Or maybe they don’t want anyone complaining when the see the letter boxed 720 channels on their 1080 panels.

How about Dish / Direct satellite or AT&T U-verse ?  Same issue ?

Please Where do I find LCD HD?

was looking at the lcd TVs at target and they had some LCD HDs that where 37 inches and 42 inches that were under $1,000. The one I was looking at was a memorex 37 inch but it may be sony, i forgot. I just wanna know if the quality is low because of the low price. Where do I get a good priced 37 inched LCD HD TV that has 1080i,complete with high quality HD, and is under a 1000. Also are there any 42 inches under a thousand. Give me some direction because i dont know if i should buy at target.

PS.I have a xbox 360 and I need a tv that is fit for the BOX. THANX
